Small Acts of Kindness

Last week, as lockdown began again, our wonderful volunteers packed the 7,000th Warm in Winter gift bag – containing essential keep warm items for older people and information about activities and services that offer help and support to older people across Hertfordshire. Over 5,500 of these bags have already been delivered. All this in just six weeks. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone on Croxley Park who has helped make this happen. It has been so wonderful to meet so many people who work on the Park and your support is very much appreciated.

Our thoughts now turn to Christmas. Very soon we will be packing and wrapping 1000 Christmas gift boxes and individual gifts that will be delivered to local older people who will be on their own over the festive period – either at home or in a care home. We would like to ask for your help to fill these boxes and gifts. If you would like to donate a gift or two, here are the ways that you can do it:

1. Take a look at our Amazon gift list and send something directly to us – easy gifting for anyone working from home! https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wi...

2. Buy an item or two from our suggested gift list and drop it into the Croxley Park Management office – here is the list
Adult colouring books and pens/pencils
Blankets
Books
Calendars
China mugs – in a protective wrap – box or bubble wrap
Fingerless gloves – unisex colours
Hot drinks gift sets
Jigsaw puzzles
Lavender wraps
Ornaments
Puzzle Books – such as Word search or Sudoku
Shower gel/Toiletries
Small boxes of chocolates such a Terry’s Chocolate Orange or Matchmakers
Small boxes of luxury biscuits

To protect recipients, please ensure all gifts are new and in date/clean. To support us with a more challenging distribution this year we would appreciate if gifts could be unisex. Thank you in advance.

3. Make a donation via our website www.smallactsofkindness.co.uk with a message saying that it is for Christmas gifts and we will buy gifts on your behalf, with a focus on supporting local shops and businesses

Finally, if your business has any biscuits, chocolates, hot drinks, mugs  or other Christmas like goodies such as calendars, pens, mini toiletries and diaries that are sitting around and not going to be used, then please think about us! So long as the use by date is no earlier than January 2021 then we would be delighted to gift them.
